Members’ Forum 2022
The Board of The Wilderness Society Ltd hosted the annual Members’ Forum in November.
On Thursday, 3 November 2022 Members of the Wilderness Society gathered online with representatives of the Board of Directors at our Members’ Forum to consider how we can serve our bio-diversity through inclusion.
The Forum noted the Wilderness Society’s Inclusion Statement, which seeks to embrace and celebrate uniqueness:
"In everything we do, and every relationship we have, we will promote diversity, invoke inclusivity and bring a collective voice of positive change which inspires others to join our movement."
Valuable feedback was gathered from attendees on national issues which may draw in more diverse people from our community and the Board will further consider this input as they progress strategy in 2023.
The Wilderness Society Diversity Committee meets regularly to address a desire and openness to having a broader—more diverse—group of people involved in our movement and not abstracted from the organisation’s purpose of “Protecting, promoting and restoring wilderness and natural processes across Australia for the survival and ongoing evolution of life on Earth.”
Thanks to all Members who attended the 2022 Members’ Forum—see you again next year!
